Musings from a heavy laden heart

Oh how I hate the promises of nothingness
They are like a mist
They are like the grass
Here today and gone tomorrow
And yet still I run
After the mist that rises and fades
It eludes me and it's promises are deceptive
The passing pleasures of sin
They come from all around
In every circumstance high or low
In my own strength I do not trust
I lean on my Beloved alone
He will show me a way of escape
No pit too deep
No sorrow too heavy
He is my way
He is my joy
He is my strength
A very present help in times of need
Would you consume me completely
Even if I stumble or fall
You uphold me with your right hand
And I know that you delight in my way
Beacause I see that emerald rainbow above your throne
Into your arms I run.
The arms of my Father beckon me closer
The blood of your Son covers me completely
There is no one closer than you and me
I in you and you in me
Just as you and the father are one
